Participation mystique / Participación mística

"La materia del mito es la materia de nuestra vida, la materia de nuestro cuerpo y de nuestro ambiente, y una mitología viva y vital se ocupa de esto en términos apropiados a la naturaleza del conocimiento de la época.

"Esta mujer con su bebé es la imagen básica de la mitología. La primera experiencia de cualquiera es el cuerpo materno. Y lo que Le Debleu llamaba participation mystique, participacón mística entre la madre y el hijo y el hijo y la madre, es la dicha definitva. Ahora, mirando alrededor, vemos qué pocas probabilidades tenemos de lograrlo, especialmente si vivimos en una gran ciudad."

"The matter of myth is the matter of our life, the matter of our body and our environment, and a living and vital mythology deals with this in terms appropriate to the nature of the knowledge of the time.
